Musical Theatre

I was music director for the South African premiere of PRISCILLA QUEEN OF THE DESERT produced by Showtime Management and Lunchbox Theatrical Productions. The production completed a sell-out season at Artscape Cape Town followed by a Johannesburg season at the Teatro at Montecasino in May. I will be touring to Hong Kong in September to music direct and conduct the production there.

Corporate and Industrial Eventing

While busy with musical theatre projects, I also arranged and music directed some major industrial events during 2016 produced by David Bloch International: EOH Spring Ball, Nedbank Achiever Awards, Vodacom CEO Awards, and EOH Achiever Awards. In 2017 I am once again writing arrangements for and music directing entertainemnt  for the EOH Spring Ball 2017 which, this year, features Corlea, Richard Stirton, Jonathan Roxmouth, Thembeka Mnguni and the Mzansi Youth Choir amongst a starry line-up.

Recording Projects

During 2016, I had some very exciting recording projects. I arranged, orchestrated and co-produced Jonathan Roxmouth’s latest album - MY LLOYD WEBBER, recorded with a live thirty piece orchestra at Howard Audio. The repertoire is a blend of well-loved Lloyd Webber gems, interspersed with some unusual choices.

The Flying Maestro

The idea for The Flying Maestro was sparked at the end of 2015 when I conducted a 40 piece orchestra in the Sun City Superbowl for Gary Player’s 80th Birthday. The event producer, Glen Beever of Frog Productions, gave me a flying entrance from 15 metres above the stage to land in front of the orchestra.

Inspirational Speaking

I made my debut as a professional speaker in 2016 at the annual Limmud Conference (Limmud is the Hebrew word for learning) – a three day gathering of international and local speakers from all worlds and walks of life. I like it to think of it as Jewish Ted Talks. I spoke for a full hour to a packed room and a standing ovation.
